Advocating for YA Literature in Politically Divided Times

by EA Editors

Everyday Advocacy is excited to partner with the National Writing Project to offer a free interactive webinar on May 8, 2023 (7:00-8:30pm EDT) that champions young adult literature in this political moment of increased censorship and book banning. Our session, offered via Zoom on the Write Now Teacher Studio platform, will feature YA authors and will be facilitated by Jennifer Buehler and Cathy Fleischer with support from Sarah Hochstetler. Participants will listen to YA authors talk about how their books made a difference in the lives of young people, share stories about YA in classrooms, libraries, and other spaces, and talk with others about how these positive narratives and the Everyday Advocacy framework can work to resist the banning of YA literature.

Registration for this event is easy! If you're not a member of the Teacher Studio, follow this link to create a free account and, once you receive a confirmation email, scroll through the "Events" in the Teacher Studio platform to RSVP for "Advocating for YA Literature in Politically Divided Times."
