Who We Are

We are members of the Commission on Everyday Advocacy, a working group of English Language Arts Teacher Educators within the National Council of Teachers of English, collaborating with the support of the National Writing Project. We are teachers, teacher educators, and ambassadors of Everyday Advocacy who occupy various positions as literacy educators. Our commitment is in working with others to amplify the impactful teaching and learning of literacy in a wide scope of settings through inquiry and action and a focus on public narratives. Wherever you are in your journey in Everyday Advocacy, welcome!

Teacher Stories of Everyday Advocacy

Are you curious to see how others are taking up the call to be an Everyday Advocate? Would narratives from others be useful in imagining “ways into” the work? Below is a series of examples of classroom, school, and district-wide efforts to effect change from folks at multiple stages of their Everyday Advocacy journeys. Explore, and be inspired!

Please let us know if you, too, have an advocacy story to share.
